Dry spell comes to end with raft of new wins

After a summer of drought on the new business front, a slew of account wins was announced this week, indicating a continuing improvement in the media market.

First came Equinox Communications' win of the £4m media planning and buying account for electrical retailer PowerHouse.

There was also a raft of new business wins from the Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy agency, which recorded a £5m account win for supermarket Kwik Save, a £1m brief for publisher Marshall Cavendish, a £1m account win for Hollywood Bowl bowling alleys and a £1.5m account win for telecoms service provider Viatel.

And John Ayling & Associates has announced that it has clinched the entire £4.4m media account for insurance giant Cornhill Direct Life. The agency will now handle the company's planning and buying television brief, which it has won from incumbent Intermediate, alongside its existing work on other media platforms.
