The Pearson-owned book publisher, which specialises in non-fiction books, is stopping at around 20 venues around the country to promote the DK brand to consumers.
The bus has been custom-built by mobile ad specialists Anthem and has been transformed inside, with three zones to explore featuring interactive exhibits based on DK's best-selling children's books.
Youngsters can get to grips with the human body, delve deep into dinosaur territory and discover the hidden treasure of the mummy.
The tour will be advertised regionally, and there will be author appearances on board. A branded homework advice sheet will be handed out to parents, who will be able to enter a competition to win £200 worth of Dorling Kindersley books.
