Danks, a high-profile figure in commercial newspapers, has been with TMG for around a year.
TMG has now merged its client and category teams into a new nine-strong unit, in a move to forge closer relations with clients and agencies. The restructure has not led to any redundancies.
Key to the new team is two commercial appointments. Motoring specialist Simon Hosahhan has joined TMG in the new role of motoring category manager.
Hosannah has 10 years' experience in the motoring industry and has previously held senior roles at UBM, the media and B2B specialist. He also worked as motoring group client sales manager at Haymarket, publisher of Media Week.
John Burke has also joined TMG in the new role of technology category manager.
Burke brings nine years' experience in the technology sector, having worked on brands including Stuff, What Hi Fi Sound & Vision, PC Pro, iGizmo and Computer Shopper.
Danks said: "By creating a team where each person has a specialist area, we hope to be able to offer our clients and the agencies we work with valuable insight in order to produce successful results for their campaigns."
